Soap and Water

I had the occasion to meet a couple named Don and Dawn McCarthy, a pleasant duo.
As their nurse, it vexed me so to keep their papers straight, and not just me, but the doctors.
What’s more, they were miffed when I decided to labelling their medicine with a Mrs. Or Mr.
“Oh no,” said one. “We don’t subscribe to the gender binary.”
I offered to call them the sun and moon, due to “dawn” and Don reminding me of dusk.
But again, they were against it. I was against potentially killing them.
Then it “dawned” on me.
So I began to call them soap and water.
