We must be
Spruced up
To fit their needs
Be mindful of our prickly
No matter how roughly
We’re cut from our roots
No, we must be evergreen
While we deck those halls
We must be evergreen
No matter how long the winter
Or harsh the wind
Or cold the snow
We must be evergreen
We droop from the weight
of those long January blizzards
But March brushes off
Like an avalanche
Brace ourselves into the sand
We must stand tall
as the evergreens
Over the babes of spring we watch
and we
Sway with the gust of the summer Cyclone
Evergreen from winter to autumn
From seed to giant
We stand
